Projects

Research group on global criminology is a cross-disciplinary research group with a specific focus on the increasing numbers of cross-border crimes and criminalisations, which the world is currently witnessing.

Different research projects are currently carried out by different groups and individual researchers. Although the projects deal with different issues, they mutually inform one another as all researchers in the research group are engaged in building up shared knowledge about cross-border issues of crime and crime control - trying to connect locally studied issues with global flows and formations.

Human Traffickers: The social circuits of human trafficking and transnational, organised crime (TRAFFICKER). The project investigates the people who facilitate, manage and orchestrate human trafficking: the traffickers.

Roskilde Festival: Mapping emerging drug trends in Danish party culture

This project explores drug trends among Danish youth at Northern Europe’s largest music event, Roskilde Festival. The high concentration of people and intense social interactions at large music festivals provide a unique window into youth drug culture. Here, trends become concentrated and visible.

The Remaking of International Criminal Justice: Syria and a Field in Crisis

An ethnography of international criminal justice practice. The project examines the emergence, evolution and implementation of novel modalities of investigating and prosecuting core international crimes as seen in the context of the Syrian conflict.
